Voices are out, Journalists are in Jail, this poster was made during the Communication Culture and Society class, this was inspired by the numerous news about journalists being red-tagged last year. The poster is made to visualize what are the challenges faced by the journalists.

Journalists are the ones who fight against misinformation and disinformation. They provide accurate and balanced information for the masses. However, in the country’s current media landscape, journalists find themselves in the spotlight as the media is being blamed and accused of contributing to the spread of misinformation and disinformation themselves. Press and Journalists are being labeled as “fake news purveyors.”
“There are numerous cases reported of incidents of threats and attacks against the press.” (CMFR)

Takeaways
Indeed, the shutdown of one of the largest media and entertainment companies in the country, ABS-CBN and the attack against journalists—a reminder that freedom of the press has been shamefully curtailed. This poster serves as a voice to amplify press freedom in light with the attack and threats amongst the journalists.
