SISIKAT KA IHA
Sisikat ka Iha is an original song of Bita and the Botflies. The music video shows the grim situation of a woman forced to perform and be the center of attention while being objectified and targeted by these masked characters. This is supposed to resemble the life of a girl who has been sexually objectified and has been forced to live through this life with no way out. The inspiration for this was the concept of puppeteering. The big bad being off screen while controlling the protagonist until she finally caves into this life. This project was a group effort for our editing class. The video was shot with everyone’s help but edited individually by the members. I honestly had no direct inspiration for editing this when I did. At the time, I was still very new to Adobe Premiere and so the way I worked on this was still not that polished, but for the inexperience that I had before, I can say I am still proud of how it turned out. The purpose of why I edited, and color graded the video this way was to impose a grim and disorienting feeling. Everything is mostly dark, and the effects put into the subject were supposed to evoke a feeling of hopelessness and being lost. The execution was done entirely on Adobe Premiere, as it was the required platform to edit on.

APOY NG KANDILA
Apoy ng Kandila is an original song by Unique Salonga. The video, which was the summative assessment for the creator’s Video Editing class, shows a med student who accidentally stumbles upon remnants of her childhood as she was going through her things, upon seeing this she reminisces of the time she had dreams of becoming an artist and ponders on whether she made the right choice by going on a different path. By the end of the video she accepts how her life has gone and happily moves forward. The theme for the video was that it would be a coming of age, in the sense that the lead in the MV makes the mature decision of coming to terms with the decisions she made that placed her in this situation. In addition, at the start and end of the video you will see a candle, one that is being lit up and one that is being blown on, this symbolizes the phase that the lead is in and by blowing on the candle at the end, so is that phase of her life.
